LAS VEGAS – NM State fell in its final outing of the weekend as Washington defeated the Aggies, 14-0, in five innings on Sunday morning.
Felicia De La Torre got the start in the circle for the Aggies while Kelley Lynch started the game for Washington and, ultimately, threw her second complete game of the season. On a day in which hits were hard to come by for the Aggies, only Kayla Bowen, Melika Ofoia and Jayleen Burton recorded hits for the Crimson and White. Meanwhile, De La Torre earned a pair of strikeouts while giving up three hits in 1.1 innings. Laurali Patane was the Aggies’ most effective pitcher as she allowed zero runs and zero hits in 1.1 innings.
The meeting with Washington wrapped up the Aggies’ stay in Vegas as they now return to their home state for a double header on Tuesday, March 8, in Albuquerque, N.M. against New Mexico. First pitch of the opening game is scheduled for 2 p.m. MT.
