G2 Esports have beaten Misfits in a convincing 3-0 sweep during the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs. G2 Esports moves onto the final stage of the post-season lower bracket to duel Fnatic for a spot in the finals. After a strong regular season that surprised most, Misfits’ run in spring has ended.

Misfits and G2 Esports came into the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs in the upper bracket as the respective 3rd and 4th seeds. 1st seed Rogue saw Misfits as an easier opponent than G2 and selected them as their round 1 opponent, which left G2 to face off against 2nd seed Fnatic. Rogue and Fnatic defeated the lower seeds in 3-1 victories and sent both teams to the lower bracket of the post-season.

The lower bracket had kicked off with a close 3-2 win for 6th seed Team Vitality against 5th seed Excel Esports, and since G2 came into the post-season as a lower seed than MSF, VIT was tasked to face off against G2 in their next match. Vitality put up a decent fight, but it was G2 who was superior on all fronts who swept the series before doing the exact same thing to Misfits.

Since Rogue reverse swept Fnatic earlier this weekend, Fnatic will now play against G2 Esports in the finals of the lower bracket to see who faces off against the undefeated Rogue in the finals of the 2022 LEC Spring Playoffs.
