Fresh details have emerged about the highly anticipated boxing game eSports Boxing Club (ESBC).
The public has been starved of a realistic boxing game since EA released Fight Night Champion back in 2011.
Steel City Interactive (SCI) has stepped up to fill the void with ESBC, which has sparked excitement with its realistic graphics, lifelike mechanics and high-profile names.
The game is set to feature some of the sport’s biggest names, including Tyson Fury, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Vasiliy Lomachenko.
Iconic fighters from yesteryear will also be playable, including Muhammad Ali, Rocky Marciano and Sugar Ray Robinson.
SCI released a seven-minute YouTube video on Thursday in which global communications director Will Kinsler talked over new gameplay footage and shared updates on the game’s development.
Several new camera angles have been added to the game, including a cinematic feature and a close-up view which “highlights those toe-to-toe moments”, according to Kinsler.
The game features more than 60 individual types of punches, while certain areas of the character’s body and face will more susceptible to damage than others. There has also been a focus on realistic fighting on the inside.
Kinsler also took the opportunity to announce a new name to the game’s roster, former IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.
Brook was revealed as the latest high-profile name on the game just days before he is due to face Amir Khan in Manchester on Saturday.
Fans have reacted positively to the updates but some have also criticised the lack of a release date for the game, which has been in development for a number of years.

“By the time this game comes out I’ll be playing UFC 14. Not because I enjoy it. Because it’s the only combat sports game that will be on the market,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another added: “Means nothing without a release date guys.”
The game has been slated for release later in 2022 and is expected to be available for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
