Epic Games announced Rocket League Live, a new way for fans to watch Rocket League Esports in Fortnite, on Tuesday. With Rocket League Live, players do not have to leave Fortnite to watch their favorite Rocket League esports teams play.

This move comes after the game developer temporarily removed building mechanics from the main game mode of the new season. Moreover, all Fortnite players will be able to view the Rocket League Championship Series Winter Major, from March 23-27, in-game. The RLCS Winter Major takes place in Los Angeles and will become the first LAN event to feature a live crowd since the Season 8 World Championship.
To watch the Rocket League Live, players must ensure they log in to Fortnite and drop into the Legendary Champions Field.
Fortnite players can view the RLCS Winter Major from the Legendary Champions Field built by the 404FNC team and FiveWalnut. While at the Champions Field, players can pick a team to support and also play mini-games in the arena. They can also fill up their boost meter to get new items and abilities.
Asides from this, the Rocket League Live experience will evolve throughout the RLCS season. While this is not the first collaboration between Psyonix and Epic, this is the first time players are able to watch one game while inside another.
The RLCS Winter Major will feature 15 teams who will compete for the $300,000 prize pool. These teams will be split into groups of four for a best-of-five round-robin. Additionally, the group stage will run from Wednesday to Friday while playoffs will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
