Xiaomi is just two days away from announcing the Redmi K50 series. However, all signs point towards the company only revealing the Redmi K50 Gaming first, rather than the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 Pro+ too. As we reported last week, there could be two Redmi K50 Gaming versions though, thanks to another Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Edition tie-in.
Now, Xiaomi has detailed two of the Redmi K50 Gaming’s cameras. For some reason, the company has opted for the IMX686, a camera it used in the Redmi K30 series, along with the Mi Note 10 Lite and the POCO X2. By contrast, the Redmi K50 Gaming will debut the IMX596, a 20 MP sensor.
The Redmi K50 Gaming utilises the IMX596 as its front-facing camera, a sample of which Xiaomi has shared on Weibo. The company has published a low-light shot taken using the Redmi K50 Gaming too, embedded below.
Incidentally, Xiaomi has reiterated the Redmi K50 Gaming’s charging capabilities. First teased in January, the Redmi K50 Gaming will be able to recharge its 4,700 mAh battery in 17 minutes with 120 W fast charging, mirroring the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. Xiaomi has showcased other design and hardware details as well, which you can read about in our corresponding article.
