Paramount+ reveals first look images from Players, an upcoming mockumentary series following a fictional professional League of Legends E-sports team.
Paramount+ has released the first look into their upcoming mockumentary series Players, revealing its cast members. Last summer, the subscription platform announced a new series about E-sports surrounding the world’s most-played MOBA game, League of Legends. The series is developed by American Vandal creators Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, and produced by CBS Studios in association with Funny or Die and Riot Games.
Now, Paramount+ has shared a first look at the upcoming documentary-style comedy around the PC game, League of Legends. The image introduces the five members of the fictional gaming team (from left to right: Noh “Arrow” Dong-hyeon, Michael “Miko” Ahn, Misha Brooks, Da’Jour Jones, and Youngbin Chung). The image provides a small glimpse into the comedic documentary style series, as the members are sporting matching attire of their team’s presumed name «Fugitive,» with Brooks holding the retired Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard. The series’ synopsis describes the group as «a fictional pro League of Legends esports team, as they pursue their first championship after years of close calls and heartache.» Check out the image below.

The photoshoot-style image perfectly encapsulates the tone of professional gaming teams, replacing the standard crossed-arm poses with the members clinging to their keyboards like a guitar. The upcoming sitcom follows the success of Riot Games’ animated series Arcane on Netflix, which has been confirmed to return for season 2. With the creative and comedic minds of the duo Perrault and Yacenda behind the series, fans can expect the series to follow the same satirical genre while branching E-sports outside of the traditional gaming media space. Although more details of the series have not been disclosed, Players will premiere on Paramount+ sometime in 2022.
