God of War v1.0.4 patch is now live on Steam, making a few bug fixes and adding a quick feature to the beloved action-adventure game.
The critically-acclaimed God of War hit PC about two weeks ago now, and it was no surprise that the bellowed PS4 title was just as loved on PC. The stronger hardware certainly goes a long way, and it also introduced many PC players to the new storyline. Of course, nothing has really been said about God of War: Ragnarok on PC yet, so it seems fans will either need to return to their PS4s, pick up a PS5, or wait for the next entry.
God of War on PC is an immaculate experience, one defined by the community’s love for the game. Already, there are plenty of interesting mods out there, even if the “skip intro” mod for God of War is a surprisingly popular one. Despite the quality of the game and the availability of the mods, of course, there is no such thing as a perfect game. Now, God of War patch v1.0.4 is now live and makes a couple of tweaks to the game.

The big bug fix is an issue where Atreus would be unresponsive in God of War. Now, if it does happen, restarting from a checkpoint or recent save should reset his state, so as to not cause players in trouble. Otherwise, it’s mostly standard technical fixes for bugs like the rare graphics river crash, VRAM detection issues on the Intel XE platform, ultrawide monitor bugs automatically setting to windowed mode when resetting displays, control functionality fixes, and so on.
Another notable addition is support for a DLSS Sharpening Slider, just adding one more beauty to the overall game. Of course, this isn’t everything, but Steam is tracking and working on fixes for even more God of War PC bugs too. These include issues where remapping Axe Recall causes Triangle to serve as a command prompt, performance drops with AMD GPUs, negative mouse acceleration, and more. Overall, it seems far less than many ports or launch titles in terms of bugs. To receive this latest update, players will need to ensure they restart Stream.
While many are currently enjoying God of War on PC, a lot of eyes are on God of War: Ragnarok as well. It is currently scheduled to release sometime this year, but until Sony showcases more of the game, it remains to be seen. The most logical explanation is new reveals and trailers at an upcoming State of Play event, but those are just rumors for now.
God of War is available on PC and PS4.
