The Epic Games Store gives away a new free game while also revealing the free game users can claim come next week on March 17.
Every week, the Epic Games Store gives away a new free game for users to claim, and unlike other free game programs, no subscription fee is required. The latest Epic Games Store free game is Cities: Skylines, a city management sim that will be available for users to claim until March 17 at 10:00am CT, at which point it will be replaced by the next EGS free game.
The next Epic Games Store free game, which will be available for users to claim from March 17 at 10:00am CT until March 24 at the same time, is In Sound Mind. In Sound Mind being an Epic Games Store free game is notable because the game is not even a year old at this point, whereas most EGS free games are relatively older titles, like current free game Cities: Skylines.

For those who are unfamiliar with the game, In Sound Mind is described as a first-person psychological horror game that features puzzles, boss fights, and music by The Living Tombstone. It sees players exploring their own memories, all the while confronted by disturbing images and dealing with frightening encounters. The downside is that In Sound Mind did earn somewhat mixed reviews from critics, with many impressed by its style and ideas, but let down by some technical issues.
It's possible that Epic Games Store users will be able to overlook In Sound Mind's technical shortcomings and enjoy the game more since they're getting it for free and not having to pay for it. In any case, it will be available for Epic Games Store users to claim from March 17 to March 24, at which point it will be replaced by the next Epic Games Store free game. The identity of that free game has not been revealed yet, and it won't be until In Sound Mind makes its Epic Games Store free game debut.
We do know that Epic Games Store free games will continue to be released throughout 2022, so fans don't have to worry about the program stopping anytime soon. The only question is how many free games will be available from one week to the next, as sometimes Epic mixes it up by giving users more than one free game.
For example, earlier this month the Epic Games Store gave away Black Widow: Recharged and Centipede: Recharged, new versions of classic arcade games, as well as the Epic Slayer Kit for free-to-play game Dauntless. So while the most likely scenario is that the Epic Games Store free game for March 24 will consist of only one title, it's always possible fans will get surprised with extra freebies.
