New claims improved more than expected last week, further reflecting a tight labor market
BRUSSELS, March 17, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Regulatory News:
AudioValley (Paris:ALAVY) (Brussels:ALAVY), an international specialist in B2B solutions in digital audio, (ISIN code: BE0974334667 / mnemonic: ALAVY) presents Targetplay, a new division within its Targetspot business unit that will focus on the fast-growing market for audio advertising in video games and apps.
There are more than 3.1 billion gamers worldwide, including 668 million in Europe1. The fast-growing and innovative gaming market segment (estimated at $120 billion in 20212) requires a specific approach from AudioValley.
"Targetspot has always been a pioneer in the world of audio advertising. We are continuing this tradition with Targetplay: we are taking up the challenge of inserting audio advertising spaces without interrupting the user's game or activity.
Advertising in a gaming environment and in applications offers two major advantages. On the one hand, it is a great way to reach and appeal to a young target audience. On the other hand, it is a non-invasive way to bring brands to the fore. But we also see gaming and the wider in-app market as a way to inspire new advertisers", explains Mario Cabanas, General Manager of Targetspot.
Targetplay will be the contact point for advertisers wishing to reach new audiences within the online gaming and in-app ecosystem.
The new division will also be in charge of innovation and new advertising technologies within Targetspot. The rise of virtual reality, the development of Web 3.0 and metaverses are already fertile ground.
"We have been experimenting with innovative forms of advertising in mobile gaming since 2020 with partners such as Audiomob, Odeeo and Aequus. Given this experience in the field, the enthusiasm of our partners and the market outlook, we expect growth in this segment to take off in 2022", says Adam Pattison, Global Head of Targetplay.
In 2021, Targetspot posted sales of €26 million, up 54% from 2020 (at constant exchange rates). In 2022, with the deployment of Targetplay, AudioValley's main business unit (92% of the group's turnover) is expected to continue to grow at a sustained pace.

Unverified video footage shot in Russia's regions in recent days and posted on social media has shown pensioners in supermarkets jostling one another as they compete to grab as many bags of sugar as they can. Many Russians regard sugar, along with staples, such as buckwheat and salt, as a useful product to stockpile at times of crisis and have hurried to buy supplies after Western sanctions on Russia over the conflict in Ukraine weakened the rouble and sent food prices higher. Annual inflation in Russia reached its highest level since late 2015 as of March 11 and sugar prices have jumped 12.8% in the last week, data from statistics service Rosstat showed on Wednesday.

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk posted in a Twitter thread on Monday advising followers to own “physical things” when inflation is high. In the tweet, Musk said “As a general principle, for those looking for advice from this thread, it is generally better to own physical things like a home or stock in companies you think make good products, than dollars when inflation is high. I still own & won’t sell my Bitcoin, Ethereum or Doge fwiw.” The biggest takeaway for some followers seems to ha

Ocugen (NASDAQ: OCGN), though, does not appear to be worth the gamble. The biopharmaceutical company's partnership with Bharat Biotech in developing Covaxin, a COVID-19 vaccine, had Ocugen investors hopeful for future profits following authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In the meantime, Ocugen's business is accumulating losses and burning through money.
Conventional wisdom says interest rate hikes make stocks less attractive, but investors shrugged off that axiom on Wednesday.

Investors in Chinese stocks, long-accustomed to pain, have just seen an astonishing turnaround. But what happens after the news of a state intervention?
Japanese accountant Masamitsu has not travelled or gone to the cinema in years and rarely eats out. Instead, his annual salary of about $34,000 goes to support his family and has risen by just $4 a year for nearly a decade. Masamitsu's plight mirrors that of many workers at small and medium-sized firms in Japan, where the average salary in 2020 was $38,515, little changed from the 1990s and well below the average of $49,165 in countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
The stock market had a big upward move on Wednesday, with investors eventually deciding that the Federal Reserve's stance on interest rates was consistent with what they wanted to see over the long run. Although there's still considerable uncertainty about what 2022 will bring in terms of macroeconomic improvement and the unstable geopolitical situation, market participants always like having at least an idea of where policymakers at the Fed are likely to take things. The size of the stock market pullback since November has been big enough that many stocks are still 20%, 30%, or even 50% below their best levels over the past year.
Bloomberg reminds investors that — yesterday's rally notwithstanding — there's still a lot of risk in Chinese stocks.

Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) is a mature technology company with stable revenues. This has made the company resilient to most of the pullbacks in the tech sector, and has even left stockholders with a 20% return from a year ago.
