Razer teams up with esports heavyweight Envy Gaming – Windows Central

Razer is a long-term supporter of esports and its latest competitive partner is a real heavyweight in the form of Envy Gaming. Once known as Team Envy, the organization recently merged with another titan of esports, Optic Gaming, to form a new organization that has teams in some of the world’s most popular competitive gaming leagues.
Razer will become the official peripheral partner of Envy Gaming and as such players on the organization’s teams will soon be seen sporting the famous logo on their gear. Additionally, both Envy and Optic-branded content creators will be welcomed into the Team Razer family on top of the likes of their teams in Halo, Call of Duty, Valorant, Overwatch, and Rocket League.
This is one of Razer’s biggest partnerships to date and puts the «for gamers, by gamers» brand back at the heart of North American esports. And with the first Call of Duty League major due to be hosted by Optic Texas this weekend.
Razer has been using the expertise of its affiliated professional players for some time now, with products like the Razer Viper gaming mouse designed in conjunction with pros to meet the needs of the most demanding gamers. It’s benefits like this that make partnerships with organizations like Envy Gaming so important.
For Razer it’s more than just getting a logo on a jersey and some well-placed product ads. Very average gamers, such as yours truly, reap the benefits of the expertise on hand. I’m not saying the Viper ever made me a better gamer, because sadly talent can’t be boxed up and sold, but it’s clear to see the impact professional input has.
