Philips has unveiled the 27M1N5200PA, a Momentum 5000 series gaming monitor that it sells for £320. According to the manufacturer, the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA delivers ‘virtually lag-free gaming’ because of its high refresh rate and fast response times. Specifically, Philips equips the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA with a 27-inch IPS panel that has W-LED backlights. Additionally, the display operates natively at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and at up to 240 Hz.
Moreover, Philips claims that the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA has 0.5 ms response times (MPRT), which rises to 1 ms when measuring Grey to Grey. Also, Philips has included AMD FreeSync Premium support to minimise image tearing and a low input lag mode to maximise responsiveness. Incidentally, Philips boasts that the gaming monitor covers 110.2% of sRGB, 95% of NTSC and 87.1% of AdobeRGB. Likewise, the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA should ship with sub-2 Delta E deviations (sRGB).
Philips adds that the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA should deliver up to 400 cd/m² of peak brightness and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Separately, the company includes two HDMI 2.0 ports and a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection; both support HDCP 2.2, even though the monitor peaks at 1080p.
Furthermore, the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA comes with four USB 3.2 Type-A ports (downstream) and a single USB Type-B that handles upstream. The Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA has dual 5 W built-in speakers, but it also has a 3.5 mm audio out should you prefer to use speakers or headphones.
