Three challenging stages face Sami-Joe and co. when the eSports WRC Championship rolls into Portugal from 13-16 May for the eighth round of the 2022 season.
The question on everyone’s lips ahead of this round is who can halt Sami-Joe? The Lebanese teenager is on an unbeatable streak stretching back to the fourth round in Wales and he shows no signs of letting up.
Expect the main challenge to come from Kazunokota. The Japanese newcomer started the season strongly with two wins across the first three rounds and is yet to finish off the podium. However, his most recent win now dates back over three months.
Another driver to watch is Race Clutch team member Izamusing. Typically operating in the shadows of this three-time world champion team-mate Nexl, the Brit has become a force to be reckoned with this season, finishing within the top six at every round to date.
He forms a formidable one-two punch with Nexl in the teams’ competition, with Race Clutch now holding an 18-point lead over second-placed eRally Drivers whose only consistent points have been courtesy of Kazunokota.
The first test of the weekend is Arganil Reverse in dry conditions in the evening, followed by another evening dash around Lousada. After a rest in the service park, action then concludes at dawn on the 8.46km Felgueiras test.
Action is open to anyone on WRC 10.
