The Epic Games Store teases profiles that come to the PC platform in the future on its Trello board and suggests what they may include.
Deciding to compete with Steam on the PC digital marketplace, Epic Games released the Epic Games Store back in 2018 and since then, it has continued to evolve the storefront through regular updates. One patch that may be coming to the Epic Games Store in the near future could add profiles to the user interface.
Reddit user Psychological-Cup799 recently posted a screenshot of the Epic Games Store Trello page that suggests that profiles are coming to the platform soon. The image teases profiles on the main Epic Games Store page as the first featured section, which was previously taken up by the Trending section. Epic Games Store's version of profiles seemingly shares data such as the games a user is playing, a score similar to Achievement progress on other platforms, and a user's name and profile picture.

Profiles are nothing new to most online gaming services such as PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live Gold, and Steam. Epic Games Store has been upgrading in many ways since it launched as fans request more features, with a Shopping Cart added to the Epic Games Store last year, which allowed users to purchase multiple items at a time. Many users are also anticipating additional Epic Games Store features such as custom library layout, social tools like Steam's community feature, and an easier way to track already purchased games in the Store tab.
The recent addition to Epic Games Store's Trello board suggests that profiles will be added to the PC storefront coming up next, but failed to give a date that fans can expect the update to release. Because previous "up next" Trello posts have taken some time to release, this change may take a while to go live as Epic Games tries to optimize things on its end. Although the pacing of such Epic Games Store updates is sporadic after being teased on Trello, fans of the PC platform may see the upcoming one in the next year.
The Epic Games Store is known for giving away free titles every month, with the current game being Five Lives Studios' Windbound and the next one called Brothers that will cost nothing as of February 17. Epic Games also regularly secures temporary exclusivity on big games like Alan Wake Remastered, God of War, and The Wolf Among Us 2, which allows them to garner interest in the platform with new releases. While the Epic Games Store continues to reach users with each big launch, the platform isn't expected to be profitable until 2024 according to Epic Games projections.
