Techland releases out another patch for Dying Light 2, this time delivering DLSS improvements and a number of assorted fixes for the game.
Dying Light 2 had only just released a few days back, but the game has already received a number of hotfixes and patches to handle some of its more egregious launch day problems. Patch 1.04, for example, will be welcomed by DLSS users and those who may have been experiencing certain types of crashes.
According to Techland, Dying Light 2's latest update is an assortment of mainly technical fixes. These issues weren't necessarily game-breaking on their own, but they certainly were plenty annoying for early adopters of the game, and Techland itself admits that it's got its work cut out for it in many respects.
Namely, Patch 1.04 is on the smaller side of the update scale, containing just a few specific fixes. The patch notes are slim when putting them next to the comparatively massive day 1 patch for Dying Light 2 that Techland delivered upon launch day, but there are bound to be more incoming over the next couple of days and weeks.
According to the notes posted on Steam, update 1.04 – likely the Dying Light 2 hotfix Techland mentioned last week – contains the following:
Techland also mentioned that it's still working on full mouse rebinding implementation, as the version introduced with patch 1.04 seems to be limited in scope at this time.
It's not particularly surprising to see hotfixes coming in as quickly as they are, now that Dying Light 2 turned out extremely successful. The game is easily one of the most successful Steam releases of all time, and all of its issues are now under considerable scrutiny by Dying Light's growing community of players. It's up to Techland to resolve these issues as quickly as possible, if it wants to retain the success.
At the same time, it's hard to believe that Dying Light 2 has anything but glory in its future, as the game has already massively outperformed the original Dying Light. Players ought to expect more hotfixes in the coming days and weeks, and though Techland is yet to detail a plan for long-term support for Dying Light 2, content updates are bound to be coming as well.
