Paris Legion (PAR) (3:00 PM EST) (-260 FLA)</em></strong><br><em>FLA</em> had a disappointing start to the season and one of their players happened to complain about the server issues between the teams (which has become a common problem for these games online). Unfortunately for <em>FLA</em>, they’ll have to faceoff with a <em>PAR</em> squad who almost defeated the defending champions in <em>ATL</em> yesterday. <em>PAR</em> has struggled with search and destroy specifically though after dropping two maps in that gametype. <em>FLA</em> on the other hand, entered their last match as a strong search and destroy team at first but was unable to win their one map on it before getting swept. Therefore, this match can go either way, but <em>PAR</em> may end up having the momentum edge and confidence. <em>PAR </em>also has slayed more efficiently across all gametypes so far especially respawns (hardpoint/control) with a 1.12 team overall kill-death ratio compared to <em>FLA’s</em> 0.76. Temp has been off to a dominant start with a 1.62 K/D which will be difficult to maintain, but a statement against the defending champions. John was also anchoring very well with the sniper on most of the maps and finished the series with a 1.26 K/D which can become problematic for <em>FLA</em>. In addition, both John/Temp have been the most reliable slayers for <em>PAR</em> despite both having K/D’s below 1. Regardless, <em>FLA</em>’s slaying to start has been really bad and if it continues, they may end up getting swept again.<br><strong><em>LA Thieves (LAT) v.s. ATL FaZe (ATL) (4:30 PM EST) (-310 ATL)</em></strong><br><em>LAT</em> performed really well in the Kickoff Classic despite falling in the semi-finals and will be debuting for their season in this matchup. <em>ATL</em> also may have more competition today against them and there’s a possibility the east-west coast difference can affect this match. Respawn gametypes have been <em>LAT’s</em> strong suit to start the season and is at the start of series so whoever sets the momentum early may have a good chance of closing out, but <em>ATL</em> does have a slight edge in search and destroys (2-2 record for <em>LAT</em>, 2-0 for <em>ATL</em>). The battle of the assault rifle mains will be crucial here in Arcitys (of <em>ATL</em>) versus Kenny (of <em>LAT</em>) with them both being the most efficient slayers for their teams in respawn gametypes. Arcitys has the slight advantage here with a 1.16 K/D compared to Kenny’s 1.09 K/D entering this match. Also, if this match goes down to the wire, <em>ATL</em> can possibly close out again the way that Cellium has been playing the search and destroy gametypes (2.83 K/D overall).<br><strong><em>OpTic Texas (OTX) v.s. MIN ROKKR (MIN) (6:00 PM EST) (-480 OTX)</em></strong><br><em>OTX</em> can potentially be in trouble here after being upset by the new <em>LON</em> squad yesterday and now facing a <em>MIN</em> squad that was the second-only team to keep their entire lineup from last season. Chemistry comes a long way and <em>MIN</em> has a chance to pick up on mistakes <em>OTX</em> made in their loss yesterday and attempt capitalizing off of that. The only thing is that <em>MIN</em> was swept in the Kickoff Classic, so they’ll have to prove themselves in this season debut as well. The respawn gametype slaying is quite close between both teams (<em>OTX- </em>0.96, <em>MIN-</em> 1.05) so search and destroy can play a large part in determining the winner. <em>MIN</em> may have the slight edge here with Standy/Majormaniak getting in more engagements in this gametype (0.78) compared to <em>OTX’s</em> highest in Dashy/iLLeY/Shotzzy at 0.75. Majormaniak/Standy are also both above 1 K/D’s while Shotzzy is the only one of <em>OTX</em> with a K/D at or above 1 in search and destroy.
