If you’re looking to blow through Hell itself in a bullet hell shooter, then Kwalee’s upcoming FPS Scathe is just the thing. With an impending release later this year on consoles and PC via Steam, Kwalee will also have a time-limited demo of Scathe available later this week during Steam Next Fest.
Scathe casts you as the eponymous protagonist, the Enforcer of the Legions of Hell. You’ve got to prove your worth by navigating the maze of Hell, collect the Hellstones to escape, and handing out punishment to the demonic evils within.
It’s not as straightforward as you might expect, as you’ll be having to constantly dodge and weave past barrages of enemy fire while dishing out your own. Luckily, you’ll have quite the arsenal to be doing that, with each weapon having its own secondary fire.
And in case you need backup, Scathe also supports drop-in/drop-out multiplayer with crossplay. You can have up to three friends join you in the fight, though to make things a little more interesting, everyone shares the same pool of lives.
Steam Next Fest runs from February 21 to the 28.

In one of those “out there” news items, Call of Duty: Warzone may soon be getting a visit from the likes of Godzilla and King Kong. According to Xfire, Activision is potentially planning on having the King Kong and Godzilla arrive for events in Warzone later this year, in addition to “more spectacular global in-game events” planned.
Xfire states that they were provided with images from a now-deleted Twitter account. Among the images were “King Kong swatting a WW2 plane out of the sky whilst soldiers aimed rifles at him in the distance” and “Godzilla destroying troops below with a bright blue beam”.
Granted, these images were concept art, but the noteworthy aspect of these images was that they were alongside Warzone Season 2 images. Season 2 of Warzone kicked off on February 14th, if you’re wondering.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Activision would be pulling out all the stops with crossovers, having already seen the likes of Scream and Donnie Darko a few months back, as well as Judge Dredd, Rambo and Die Hard prior to that. According to the article, Activision has “bold plans” for Warzone, comparing Epic Games’ Fortnite and its approach to in-game events.
However, the article stresses that this is not necessarily a sure thing. Given the timing, as neither Godzilla or Kong have a movie on the way at the moment, it might all just be an idea put to concept that was floated by the developers. If anything, it would make more sense to have a crossover with Jurassic World Dominion, which arrives this summer.
But hey, you never know.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
