USEA will work closely with schools, universities, and community groups to help support, establish and develop their esports programmes
United States Esports Academy (USEA) and Challenger Sports have signed a strategic partnership agreement to help support esports and gaming development and growth in the United States. Over the last two years, Esports has become increasingly integrated into mainstream consciousness and pop culture. With almost three billion gamers worldwide, it is becoming a mainstream activity with global investors, brands, media outlets, colleges, schools, and consumers all paying attention.
Today, esports provides students with the same opportunities and benefits as its traditional counterparts, including university scholarship opportunities. The growth of both the industry and the viewership has been staggering. According to Insider Intelligence, in 2021 there were 26.6 million monthly esports viewers in the US.
USEA provides solutions to the esports and gaming community and ecosystem. The academy that launched in January this year offers coaching programmes for all levels of gamers and esports players delivered to schools, universities, and community groups across the United States. USEA will initially have a strong focus in Georgia and Kansas.
USEA will work closely with schools, universities, and community groups to help support, establish and develop their esports programmes. Players, novices, and teams can all sign up for coaching sessions and development programmes for their respective games. It offers to coach to over 16 game titles, but this season will offer 4-6 titles.
Johan Van Breda, co-founder and CEO of USEA said: “We believe that organisations and aspiring esports athletes require high-quality coaching programmes to be sustainable for the students to truly reach their potential. USEA has a unique approach to esports coaching by combining factors of traditional LTAD coaching philosophies with modern esports coaching techniques. The United States Esports Academy will align with challenger’s nationwide sales and marketing to ensure communities, schools, and universities can get the necessary support and services.”
Alan Jones, director of Challenger Sports, added: “Esports is a rapidly growing market that this partnership can add tremendous value to the development of gamers through quality coaching programs nationwide. Challenger Sports have been at the forefront of youth sports education for three decades, providing solutions to soccer communities across the USA and Canada. We look forward to utilising our national footprint to help develop esports with the expert guidance of USEA.”
