Snoop Dogg joins FaZe Clan, Elden Ring is finally fixed on Steam, and God of War becomes a TV series.
I’m not going to lie about the fact that we just had a very slow news day. But it’s not our fault! These things happen. They just do. In any case, we did hear about a few things that are probably worth knowing about if you’re at all interested in the world of gaming. First up, we found out that Snoop Dogg will be joining FaZe Clan at some point this year. We also discovered that a God of War TV series might just be coming to Amazon Prime. Oh, and the Nintendo Switch Online app is actually decent now. Read on to hear about these and a couple other stories.

Elden Ring has been having some issues on Steam. The rumor is basically that somebody rage quit, uninstalled the game, then cooled themselves down, booted things back up, and subsequently discovered that all of their save data was missing because of a problem with remote storage. Did this really happen? Who knows. But there actually was an ongoing issue with cloud saves that now appears to have been solved. “An update for the Steam client has been released which should prevent the issue of conflicting local and cloud save data,” the publisher of the game, Bandai Namco, said in a statement. “Please update your Steam client to the latest version.” In other words, you no longer have to think twice before your next rage quit.
Elden Ring has been monopolizing everybody’s attention for the last couple of weeks. Mine included. But this doesn’t mean that other games have been totally ignored. We found out today that Gran Turismo 7 has just cruised into first place on the sales charts. The game is now the most popular purchase among buyers of boxed copies in the UK. Sales of Gran Turismo 7 are actually down 28 percent from Gran Turismo Sport if you can believe it, but the digital market has grown substantially over the intervening five years. We’ll find out just how well the game sold when the digital sales figures come out later this week.
While it used to be a little bit bare, the Nintendo Switch Online app is now brimming with features. Relatively speaking of course. The latest version of the app revamps the overall design in dozens of different ways, but the biggest change seems to be the social settings. You’re now able to set your online status and see what games your friends are playing. I know, right? Revolutionary stuff. Most players have been pointing out that Nintendo should have implemented these features from day one, but the company lives by its own rules.
Rumors have been swirling around that a God of War TV series might just be coming to Amazon Prime. Oh, boy! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. In any case, it sounds like Sony and Amazon are in negotiations about the matter. The series would apparently be headlined by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby from The Expanse along with the executive producer on The Wheel of Time, Rafe Judkins. Sony Pictures and Television would be collaborating with PlayStation Productions and PlayStation Games. This all has to be taken with a grain of salt on the other hand because neither Amazon nor Sony have made an official statement.
Snoop Dogg has been making moves in the world of gaming for years, but now the musician has dove into the deep end by joining FaZe Clan. We heard today that Snoop Dogg is going to be joining the board of directors after FaZe Clan goes public later this year. "The organic relationship between FaZe and Snoop has been building for years now, so we are thrilled to officially welcome FaZe Snoop to the family," Chief Strategy Officer at FaZe Clan Kai Henry remarked. "As the original internet kid and first generation gamer, Snoop has always understood the cultural connection between music, lifestyle, and gaming.”
