SM Supermalls joined the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League-Philippines as one of its esports partners to provide fans an immersive viewing experience through select SM cinemas nationwide.
This is the first mobile esports event streamed through SM Cinema.
The retail giant will broadcast the Season 9 Playoffs in its SM cinemas from April 28 to the May 1 finals. Tickets sell for P170 per day, including free popcorn and MLBB freebies.
Fans can purchase tickets from SM Cinema’s official website, SM Cinema app or the SM Cinema ticket booths.
The participating SM cinemas are San Lazaro, Manila, Sta. Mesa, Taytay, Masinag, BF Parañaque, Sucat and Bicutan.
“We are thrilled to join the event to provide our customers and fans a viewing experience like no other,” said Joaquin San Agustin, Senior Vice President for Marketing of SM Supermalls. “This is our way to help bring together MPL-PH fans and gamers alike as we further witness the strength of the Philippines in mobile gaming.”
“Moonton Games is honored to welcome SM Supermalls as one of our partners in bringing the best viewing experience for our fans,” said Lee Viloria, Esports Business Development Head of MPL Philippines. “We hope our fans can enjoy watching the action-packed MPL-PH Season 9 playoffs and championship on a much bigger screen with friends and fellow gamers, as we slowly but surely and safely transition our online tournaments to offline events.”
Smart Communications Inc., the event’s official telco partner, will also be the internet provider for the screening of the playoffs to championships.
