Security guard injured in shooting at east Charlotte gaming business – WBTV

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A large police presence has gathered at a strip mall in east Charlotte early Friday morning.
The strip mall is located in the area of East W.T. Harris Boulevard and Milton Road.
A number of officers were on the scene around 5:40 a.m. Crime scene tape had been put up as well.
Authorities said the investigation is in reference to a shooting. The boyfriend of an employee at La Casa, a skilled game business, said someone tried to rob the store, there was a struggle for the gun and a person was shot.

According to police, the victim was a security guard who was shot in the leg. Authorities added that the person was taken to the hospital for treatment and has been released.
La Casa was the scene of a deadly 2019 shooting where an employee, identified as 51-year-old Askia Toure Abdullah Alkebulan, was killed. Family members said he was employed as a security guard.
