Red Bull Racing Esports has joined forces with Cloud technology experts Oracle. Acting as title sponsor and technical partner, Oracle create and supply advanced database management tools and software products such as Java.
As a result, the team has now been rebranded Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports.
Red Bull Racing Esports enjoyed a strong 2021 in F1 Esports Series Pro, matching the Formula One team’s second-place finish in the Teams’ championship. Lead driver Frede Rasmussen also finished second in the Drivers’ Standings, just eight points adrift of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports Team’s Jarno Opmeer.
Rasmussen capped off an impressive twelve months by claiming the Autosport Esports Driver of the Year.
Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports started 2022 with the 24 Hours of Virtual Le Mans earning pole position in GTE, and is following that up by fielding three cars in the 2022 Porsche TAG Heuer eSports Supercup, getting off to a promising start at Hockenheim.
Scotsman Graham Carrol is their lead driver in the standings, lying third thanks to a strong second-place finish in the Feature race.
Earlier this month, Oracle stepped up its support of the Red Bull Racing F1 team, becoming title sponsor, with the team renamed Oracle Red Bull Racing. The move to align itself with Red Bull’s esports team is seen as an extension of the relationship, with both parties hoping Oracle Cloud Infrastructure can aid driver training and analysis in what is seen as a fairly significant deal in esports terms.
