It seems that Intel will be presenting new NUC mini-PCs soon, despite the company having made no official announcement yet. Instead, Chiphell has published the first review of the NUC Studio 12 Pro, codenamed Wall Street Canyon. Unsurprisingly, the review compares the NUC Studio 12 Pro with the Mac Studio, presumably because of the similarities in their designs. In saying that, the NUC 12 Studio Pro is considerably smaller than the Mac Studio at 116.84 x 111.76 mm.
According to the post, the NUC Studio 12 Pro comes with an Intel Core i7-1260P, a 12-core processor with 4 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores. Reportedly, the new processor helps the NUC Studio 12 Pro score 692 points in Cinebench R20 single-core and 4,055 points in the corresponding multi-core test. In comparison, the Core i7-1165G7, a processor available in the NUC 11 Pro, averages 564 and 1,987 points in those tests, respectively.
Additionally, Intel will sell the NUC Studio 12 Pro with a Core i7-1270P, Core i5-1250P, Core i5-1240P and a Core i3-1220P, plus several memory configurations. However, the machine will be upgradeable thanks to its dual SO-DIMM slots and its M.2 2280 slot that supports PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds. Like past NUC generations, the NUC Studio Pro will be launched in slim and tall versions too, with the latter featuring a 2.5-inch drive bay.
Supposedly, Intel has included a revised cooling solution as well that will allow the NUC Studio 12 Pro to operate quietly and coolly. Incidentally, Intel will equip the mini PC with the following I/O:
