Esports Entertainment Group announced that GAMMAX, a Netherlands-based gaming and esports startup, has agreed to become the exclusive distributor of the revolutionary new OMEGA solution for the Dutch market. In addition, OMEGA will be installed in GAMMAX Gaming & Esports Centres and Leisure locations across the Netherlands over the next five years, with the expectation of multiple installations through 2026.
GAMMAX is a gaming and esports startup based in The Hague and affiliated with the Sir Winston Leisure Group, a privately-owned operator of casinos and family entertainment centres in the Netherlands. Leveraging Sir Winston’s extensive experience in family entertainment centres and arcades, GAMMAX is creating social meeting places for gaming and esports fans. The first GAMMAX centre opened this month in Scheveningen and offers more than 70 gaming PCs, all supported by OMEGA.
“Our expertise in operating family entertainment centers has given us a clear view of the power of esports and compelled GAMMAX to pursue an exciting new business opportunity. In building our GAMMAX Gaming & Esports Centers, we are selecting world-class vendors who can supercharge our business. We believe the OMEGA solution offers an ease of installation and operation that will provide our GAMMAX centers with an unmatched technology platform. Further, it will allow GAMMAX to establish itself as a turnkey technology provider, which can bring the excitement of esports to a variety of entertainment venues throughout the Netherlands,” Rogier Schmitt, Founder and Managing Partner of GAMMAX, said.
“OMEGA is a unique, groundbreaking solution that allows businesses to attract gamers with a compact, convenient setup that resembles an esports arena. We are delighted that GAMMAX has selected OMEGA and believe this further validates the power of our B2B solution. EEG is dedicated to the global growth of esports, and we look forward to working with GAMMAX to bring OMEGA to their new esports venues and other potential venues over the coming years,” Magnus Leppäniemi, President of Esports at Esports Entertainment Group, said.
OMEGA (Online Multiplayer Esports Gaming Attraction) is designed as a turnkey solution for businesses and entertainment venues, allowing them to add esports and gaming as a new revenue stream. OMEGA uses an arcade model to deliver a guided user experience, enabling users to seamlessly pay on-screen through a QR code or through an existing POS system. Grouped in teams across six or 12 stations, players are tasked with missions and quests as they compete in games such as Valorant and League of Legends. Players are rewarded for their performance with credits redeemable for prizes.

Due to the start of a full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the company will not organize the broadcasting of the tournament in Russian for the safety of employees.
On February 21, WePlay Esports announced the official Russian-language broadcast of the largest Dota 2 tournament, GAMERS GALAXY: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022. However, today, fully realizing the importance of the event for the esports community, the studio refuses to broadcast the tournament in Russian.
Instead, WePlay Esports is going to host a Ukrainian-language broadcast of GAMERS GALAXY: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022. With the talents and company employees’ safety in mind, the broadcast will be held in a homecast format. The broadcast will be available on the official WePlay Esports Twitch channel.

Ukrainian-speaking talent cast:

The GAMERS GALAXY: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022 is open for community casting coverage in Russian. However, WePlay Esports reserves the right to change the standard rules for organizing a community cast to draw attention to the current events on the territory of Ukraine
Like any other language, Russian is not used on the territory of the Russian Federation solely – as well as English is used in Europe, Australia, the United States, etc. We know and believe that many Russian-speaking people all over the world are now hurt by what is happening in Ukraine. As a company of Ukrainian origin, WePlay Esports cannot stand aside and will do its best to draw the attention of the world community to the war on the territory of Ukraine.

With this statement, WePlay Holding declares that the office in Ukraine will continue to work remotely. The US office is open as usual. The company is performing all the payments, legal and other activities in time.
Russian Federation attacked Ukraine. Even though it’s frightening, the people of WePlay Holding and all of Ukraine know how to maintain common sense and stay calm.
Work in the WePlay Holding Ukrainian office is in full swing. At present, all the company departments, from Legal and Finance to Studio and Esports, as well as infrastructure institutions, are doing their best to keep in touch and provide partners with the information necessary to solve any issue. All WePlay Holding employees are aware of the government instructions they need to follow and continue working from home. The company keeps everyone posted on current updates affecting the workflow.
Thank you for your words of support and sensitivity that all Ukrainians need now. Together we are strong and unbreakable.
With you always,
Oleh Humeniuk, chief executive officer at WePlay Holding
