But the sheer number of models to choose from can make picking the “right one” overwhelming.<br>That’s why we’ve put together a list of seven of ASUS’ best gaming laptops for anyone seeking portable, powerful gaming.<br>Shopping for a laptop of any kind can be overwhelming. The variety of tech specs, model numbers, and price tags can make even a veteran shopper dizzy. This is especially true when it comes to buying a gaming laptop, where tech specs are crucial to smooth gaming performance.<br>While there are too many considerations to list here, keep an eye on these key specifications when shopping for your ASUS gaming laptop:<br><strong></strong>Having a great GPU is the best way to get great gaming graphics. The combination of its Ryzen 9 5900HS CPU and RTX 3070 GPU deliver incredible performance on graphically-intense games like <em>Red Dead Redemption II</em> and <em>Shadow of the Tomb Raider</em>, and can run both at max settings without issue.<br>We also love the G15’s design. The keyboard, touchpad, and speakers are all great, especially compared to the competition. But the G15’s most impressive feature might be its stellar battery life, able to cruise through an entire workday on one charge, or crank out about an hour and a half of gaming unplugged. The only real drawback is that, like many ASUS gaming laptops, the G15 lacks a webcam.<br><strong>Recommended Configuration </strong><br>Anyone seeking a gaming laptop with a more compact form-factor should definitely check out ASUS’ ROG Zephyrus G14. First released in 2020, this laptop made waves with its incredible battery life, excellent performance, and affordable price point, all features not commonly associated with smaller laptops.<br>In 2022, the Zephyrus G14 still holds relevance thanks to its newly updated CPU and GPU, making it ASUS’ best compact laptop. While the screen isn’t extraordinary, this laptop’s CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage specs make it a very strong performer, especially considering its price point. And like the Zephyrus G15, the G14 boasts excellent battery life, a great keyboard, and a responsive touchpad.<br><strong>Recommended Configuration </strong><br>The fully-loaded Strix Scar 17 is a true desktop replacement. It features some of the fastest components available in a laptop, with an incredibly powerful CPU and GPU working alongside a whopping 32GB of RAM to deliver stunning performance on any video game. Gamers who swap between tons of different games will appreciate the two 1TB SSDs loaded into this laptop, providing more than enough space for most people. Design-wise, the Strix Scar 17 is more eye-catching than the Zephyrus line, with tons of RGB lighting and more angular accents. Another pleasant surprise is the mechanical keyboard, which feels springier and clickier than ASUS’ other laptops.<br><strong>Recommended Configuration </strong><br>Not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend on a gaming laptop. However, having a tight budget doesn’t have to mean making countless compromises, and ASUS’ TUF Dash 15 proves it. Usually priced at around $1000, the Dash 15 is a great example of how the bare essentials can still deliver excellent gaming performance. The mid-range CPU and GPU perform very well at gaming in 1080p, and combined with the 144Hz screen, render up some very smooth gameplay. Like ASUS’ other top-tier laptops, the Dash 15 has excellent battery life, lasting an entire day browsing or a little over an hour gaming.<br>While the inside may feature more mid-range specs and the outside more plastic, the price more than makes up for the Dash 15’s shortcomings.<br><strong>Recommended Configuration </strong><br>If smooth performance and high frame rates are your top priorities, ASUS’ ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition might be your next gaming machine. Unlike the Zephyrus line, the Strix features a bolder, more angular design souped-up with an RGB keyboard and RGB underlighting. The internals are bold too, with the G15 Advantage sporting an AMD CPU and AMD GPU, making it one of the few purely AMD-based laptops ASUS offers.<br>Other than its powerful CPU and GPU, the star of the show is this laptop's super fast 300Hz HD display. For gamers who love high-speed, high-frame-count games like <em>Counter Strike: Global Offensive</em> and <em>Valorant</em>, this screen will not let you down. <br>With an excellent battery and fast-charger to boot, the G15 Advantage is a great choice for gamers seeking bold performance and a fast screen.<br><strong>Recommended Configuration </strong><br> 2-in-1 devices are not commonly associated with gaming, and for good reason. Fitting powerful gaming components into such a small form factor is both challenging and expensive. ASUS’ ROG Flow X13 is one of the few examples of a gaming 2-in-1 done right. This huge laptop has two screens: a fast 1920 by 1080 HD primary display and a 14.1 inch secondary “ScreenPad” touchscreen. Situated at the top of the keyboard and angled towards the user, this massive secondary display takes some getting used to, but makes this gaming laptop feel like something out of the future once you start to use it.<br>Inside, the Duo SE 15 features AMD’s Ryzen 9 5980HX, a blazingly fast CPU that keeps everything running smoothly, even with the additional screen.
