KA-BOOM!
Just recently, we reported on some of the crazy things that modders are already doing in the Zelda: Ocarina of Time PC port. We’ve seen the likes of multiplying character models appearing in game, the ability to fight Shadow Link while fending off Ganondorf, and even the ability to spawn the chains that hold up Hyrule Town’s gate at will – madness!
Now, the latest mod to grace our lives adds lots and lots of bombs to the game – like, loads of ‘em. In the video above, Josh Busker takes the viewer through the game from the opening in Kokiri Forest up to the end of the fight with King Dodongo. The difference is that there are bombs everywhere, quite literally to the point where explosions will randomly occur within the game’s environments.
It’s one of the more ridiculous mods to come out of the PC port thus far, and we’re all here for it. We particularly enjoyed witnessing an ever-expanding bomb fill the screen in Kokiri Forest, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t disappointed that it didn’t eventually explode.

To be fair, these changes could probably be applied to a working N64 ROM too! The de-compilation makes these sorts of changes possible.

The mods coming out just seem a bit chaotic.
I would like something as simple as adding stars to the sky or more extreme like a new area to explore.
Cue the Morshu quote.
@wonderclassic there are at least two LoZ:OoT PC port projects, one of which is indeed developed by the awful individual you’re describing.
But as far as I understand, the project featured in this article and video is the Ship of Harkinian, a more popular port that to my knowledge has no relation to that other transphobic, homophobic, white supremacist, and racist wife beater you’re talking about (apart from both projects being made possible thanks to yet other people reverse-engineering the original game).

This must be the first article on Nintendolife about this
@wonderclassic
It’s a shame how people continue to associate skills and works with opinions and beliefs, as if it changes the outcome of the product.
Don’t get me wrong: The dev is definitely a bad person. However, I didn’t come here to talk about that person. I came here to talk about the work they did, which is a very different thing from what they say or think.
@ModdedInkling the (supposed) quality of a work does not justify ignoring other aspects of how it was created. Regardless of the quality of their work, promoting people such as the mentioned dev does have outcome, at best “merely” making gay, trans, or non-white people feel unwelcome and comforting other people with the same ***** values. This is especially true in the case of that particular developer who is known to put such hateful message directly in his final products (although from a quick check, he doesn’t seem to have done that with his OoT port).
But in any case, this seems kind of off-topic, as the port discussed in this article (Ship of Harkinian) is a different one, developed by different people.
I was being sarcastic when I said oh great weekly PC articles when this was released…guess I wasn’t too far off.
You should report on how SM64 Mario was added to games like Minecraft and Sonic Generations. He looks and controls exactly like he does in SM64, but good luck getting an S Rank in any level in Generations; he’s too slow.

Wow the YouTuber hits all the tuber cliches all in one video.
@wonderclassic seems like all the productive people are.
@Aryon
It’s really a case by case basis. I just wish it didn’t result in such widespread consequences rather than simply based on what topic or field it’s about.
@Aryon
As I’ve said before, it really doesn’t matter what he’s done or believes. You need to be forgiving of people’s faults. Period. Feeling «unwelcome» doesn’t give you an excuse to make him (or me, or anyone else, for that matter) feel unwelcome.
Not to mention that continuing to call some one a «wife beater» for an event that happened 8 years ago (and resulted in his arrested) is just plain slanderous.
@ThePizzaCheese the explicit examples of hateful messages are not even 3 years old and I can’t see any apology or anything from his side. While I agree forgiveness should be possible, forgiving without any hint of the person getting better does not make sense.
So it’s better to have innocent people feel unwelcome by ignoring someone’s outspoken bigotry, than to make the actual bigot feel uncomfortable by holding them accountable? Alright.
@Aryon
It doesn’t matter whether not or he apologizes. The truth is change is only possible once we have given forgiveness.
How we may feel isn’t as important as how we treat others, even those that have hurts us. That’s what it means to turn the other cheek.
I’m not saying you need to feel comfortable using his software, but you still need to show respect and be polite to everyone, even people who don’t show it to us.
@ThePizzaCheese turn your own other cheek if you want, but don’t volunteer other people’s cheeks. The kind of speech that person holds have real consequences on real people, doing like it’s nothing is being fine with them taking abuse.
