Triton Esports is bringing the spirit of video gaming to this year’s University of Guam Charter Month.
The gaming organization will be hosting free tournaments and showcases every week this month, according to a UOG news release.
The tournaments are open to Esports athletes and enthusiasts of all ages in Guam and the Marianas with a chance to win more than $1,500 in prizes. The events will be live streamed on the Triton Esports Twitch channel and will include analysis and commentary, according to the release.
In addition to the exciting tournament, Triton Esports will also be launching its own Minecraft server on Friday. The server will feature familiar UOG landmarks rebuilt in Minecraft, according to the release.
New players will be able to explore the school in Minecraft form as they play to survive.
Tritons Esports tournaments are scheduled as:
1st Week
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Showcase
Tekken Tournament
2nd Week
League of Legends Showcase
Pokémon Unite Tournament
3rd Week
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Showcase begins at 6 p.m. March 18.
Valorant Tournament
4th Week
Community Showcase begins at 4p.m. March 25.
Teamfight Tactics Tournament
Swiss tournament begins at 2 p.m. March 26.
Competitors can register for free at https://esports.uog.edu/70th/. Registration will close one day before each game.
