Atlus released not one, but two trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, showcasing more elements of the game.
The first is the second episode of the “Summoners’ guide.” It comes with English subtitles, so do remember to activate them.
This time around we hear more about the Covenants, the Great One, and the enemies belonging to the Phantom Society. We also hear more about Milady, dungeon, and combat gameplay.
The second trailer is the usual daily trailer introducing a demon, and this time it’s Thunderbird. That’s quite appropriate considering that it first debuted in the original Soul Hackers. It also appeared in the previous Shin Megami Tensei game, Shin Megami Tensei V.
As usual, the trailer also includes the daily horoscope with a ranking of signs from the luckiest to the unluckiest. Scorpio is at the top, while Sagittarius is at the bottom of the fortune ranking.
Soul Hackers 2 releases for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Windows Store) on August 26, just one day after the Japanese launch on August 25.
You can check out the original trailer, plenty of screenshots, a second gallery, more images, and a video explaining the gameplay.
Previous daily trailers include another showcasing Titania, one revealing Nue, one focusing on Mokoi, one showing Milady, revealing the return of Strawberry Frost, and one focusing on a convenience store.
Here’s how Atlus officially describes the game:
“Soul Hackers 2 inherits the essence of Devil Summoner: Soul Hacker, while evolving the game concept with a more defined art style, addictive RPG gameplay and ATLUS’s next-level storytelling. Set in the Shin Megami Tensei universe, Soul Hackers 2 follows a brand new story about two Agents of Aion, Ringo and Figure, and their fight to stop the destruction of the world.
Produced and directed by Eiji Ishida and Mitsuru Hirata, other featured staff includes music composed by MONACA, character designs by Shirow Miwa and Production Manager Shinjiro Takata.”
