Los American Manga Awards regresan en su segunda edición para seguir premiando lo mejor del manga publicado en inglés. La ceremonia de entrega se celebrará durante el evento Anime NYC, que se realizará del 21 al 24 de agosto en el Javits Center de Nueva York.
Junto al anuncio de los nominados, también se ha revelado que el Salón de la Fama de la Publicación de Manga reconocerá este año a Studio Proteus, pioneros de la traducción y edición de manga en Norteamérica. Este estudio contribuyó a introducir clásicos como Blade of the Immortal, Nausicaä del Valle del Viento y Ghost in the Shell al mercado occidental.
