Sony will announce the PS Plus free games for March 2022 in just a few days, so here are some ideas on what might do well on the service.
On February 23, Sony will reveal what the upcoming PS Plus free games are for March 2022. March is usually one of the biggest months year after year, giving PS Plus fans high expectations for March. It remains to be seen, one way or another, but there will be new games coming on March 1.
What they are specifically are usually hard to determine, especially after the ever-reliable PS Plus leaks have slowed to a halt. That said, while the following games are not predictions, they are games that would likely do well should Sony add them to PS Plus next month or anytime beyond that.

Cyberpunk 2077 just released its native PS5 version, as well as the expansive patch 1.5. While it’s not perfect, many have said this is how Cyberpunk 2077 should have launched—at the very least. CD Projekt Red still has a lot of work ahead of itself, and while the 5-hour free trial likely means it won’t come to PS Plus, it should. While these next-gen versions and patch are bringing players back or into the game for the first time, there are still many who are distrustful. Many also know that the first 5-hours are largely dominated by the prologue, one of the best parts of the game, and it may not be the best sample for the full experience.
So, giving it away on PS Plus for a limited time could show off the changed game, as well as bring in even more fans. Cyberpunk 2077 will eventually get premium expansions, and this would go a long way in keeping players engaged here.
Conan Chop Chop may not be on the top of many wish lists, but it feels reasonable that it very well could be a free game for PS Plus in March 2022. Conan Chop Chop is a 1-4 player stick figure roguelite set in the world of Conan the Barbarian, and it seems to have some promise as it went from a prank game to an upcoming realistic one. While players can’t usually predict what games will come to PS Plus, Hell Let Loose was an accurate prediction based on three things: release date timing, a relationship with Sony, and the fact it couldn’t be pre-ordered. Conan Chop Chop checks off all these boxes as well.
Sometime between March and the end of summer, a Call of Duty game comes to PS Plus every year. Following Black Ops 3 in 2018, Modern Warfare Remastered in 2019, WWII and MW2 Campaign Remastered in 2020, and Black Ops 4 in 2021, 2019’s Modern Warfare may be the logical next step. Not only has this game been the most praised of the past few entries, but a PS Plus release could revitalize it for a while ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s release in 2022. It may not be next month, but Modern Warfare releasing on PS Plus sometime in 2022 just makes sense.
On March 15, Rockstar Games is re-releasing a standalone GTA Online with PS5 and Xbox Series X enhancements. PS Plus subscribers will be able to claim GTA Online for three months, giving subscribers plenty of time, but they shouldn’t sleep on it still. GTA Online is a major part of the success of GTA 5, and as of now, it’s a confirmed PS Plus game even though it’s not following the typical subscription format.
PS Plus subscribers typically get a handful of free games every month.
