Smith joins the platform after a nine-month tenure as Chief Operating Officer at creative marketing agency Hotdrop. The aforementioned operational strategy will aim to ‘increase VeraEsports’ impact’ on the esports industry.
RJ Mark, CEO of Verasity, spoke on the appointment: “I’m delighted to welcome Perry to the Verasity team. It’s going to be a big year for VeraEsports as we onboard new gaming partners and expand our tournament streaming capabilities. Having Perry at the helm will allow us to build strong foundations for VeraEsports as both a vertical for Verasity and a standalone brand.”
The first quarter of 2022 has been busy for VeraEsports. The platform extended its existing partnership with NFT-based video game Axie Infinity in addition to joining forces with Riot Games for the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Asia-Pacific Challengers circuit.

Perry Smith, the newly appointed Head of VeraEsports, added: “Verasity’s market-leading Proof of View technology, Watch and Earn mechanisms, and the VeraPlayer poise VeraEsports for huge success in the rapidly expanding and highly competitive gaming industry.
“Until today, VeraEsports has enjoyed success with blockchain-focused audiences, but I’m now looking forward to defining our go-to-market strategy for the esports industry and building out new partnerships for VeraEsports.”
Esports Insider says: As Verasity looks to expand its VeraEsports brand, appointing Perry Smith to its team is a solid step in the right direction. With plenty of industry experience, Smith is the perfect candidate to lead the growth of the platform.
