Lenovo appears to be aware of the excitement building for its Android gaming tablet, which it has called the Legion Y700. While Samsung has plenty of new tablet products for shoppers to choose from and both Apple and Xiaomi have their large-form slates for sale, the market for smaller devices is not similarly overflowing. This sector is pretty much ruled by the iPad Mini at the moment, but a few OEMs seem to be prepping Android rivals, with the Lenovo Legion Y700 being one of the front-runners.
Along with the various specifications Lenovo has already shared about the 8.8-inch Android tablet, the company has now informed its fans that the Legion Y700 slate will have a whopping 6,550-mAh battery (iPad Mini 6: 5,124 mAh) and will support 45 W fast charging. In addition, Lenovo claims gamers will be able to enjoy their favorite “mainstream” titles for a solid six continuous hours before the battery runs out of juice.
There’s no denying that the Lenovo Legion Y700, which will apparently have an LCD panel (not OLED) and support memory card expansion, could really shake up the compact tablet market. Unfortunately, neither the release date nor price tag have been revealed yet; however, there is expectation that the Legion Y700 could turn up soon considering how much of it has already been teased, while hopes remain for a price tag of around US$400.
