Today, SNK Corporation announces the launch of The King of Fighters XV (KOF). The launch will be live for PC and consoles, bringing back the classic fighter to fans. Since its debut in 1994, KOF has brought players exciting fighting and unique characters. Now, after six years, the newest KOF has arrived.
With the revived classic, fans will experience the old with the new. KOF XV will feature 39 characters with a mix of current popular characters and resurrected fan favorites. In addition, the classic 3-on-3 team battle system will see a return, but with a new, improved feature. Shatter strike is a new mechanic that will give players the ability to counter enemy attacks.
Additionally, players can try the improved Max Mode or Max Mode (Quick), adding an extra level of tactics and play. Finally, the Rush function allows combos to be carried out by rapidly pressing attack buttons. These features have been improved and revamped to make fights more energetic.
The next KOF installment will continue where the previous game left off. Continuing the KOF saga, heroes from the Orochi, Nests, and Ash sagas will all come together in this installment to bring the story to an explosive climax. The single-player story is not the only game mode available to players.
KOF XV will also feature an online multiplayer. Adopting Rollback netcode, SNK Corp. hopes to offer players smoother online play. KOF XV will offer Ranked, Casual, Room matches, and online training, including a new match type. Draft VS will pit you against an opponent as both of you try to grab your favorite characters before the other. In addition, KOF will offer cross-play on Sony so that Playstation 4 and 5 players can play explosive matches against one another.
