HAMDEN — Officers are investigating after a man allegedly met up with another individual as part of the online sale of a PlayStation gaming console, then pepper sprayed them and fled with the device, according to police.
Officers responded to Goodrich Street around 7:45 p.m. Monday for a reported street robbery, Det. Sean Dolan said in an email.
“The 24 year-old victim was selling a PlayStation game console he listed online. The ‘buyer’ asked to see the contents of the box and pepper sprayed the victim. The suspect then fled with the PlayStation onto Shepard Street,” said Dolan.
The suspect was described as a Black man, approximately 5-foot-9-inches tall, wearing all black and a black facemask, Dolan said. They were reportedly dropped off in a black four-door sedan.
Dolan asked anyone with information or surveillance video related to this investigation to contact the Hamden Police Department at 203-230-4000.
