We’ve been looking forward to Grapple Dog ever since we first saw it in action – it’s the game we wished Bionic Commando had been, mashed up with 90s platformers like Zool. You can read our impressions of Grapple Dog’s speedrunner friendly demo here, where we described it as “sheer joy”.
However, things got even better. Developer Joseph Gribbin signed a publishing deal with Super Rare Originals, Super Rare Games’ newly-formed publishing label, making it the first indie title to be published by the company. Super Rare Originals will be handling the release of Grapple Dog, which is set to hit PC and Nintendo Switch.
And now, we know just when it’ll be arriving. Grapple Dog will be released digitally on PC and Switch this February 10th. Could a boxed version be in the works? There’s no news so far, but given that Super Rare Games started life publishing physical version of Nintendo Switch titles, we wouldn’t be at all surprised.
Grapple Dog, which has been in development for several years, will sport six worlds, complete with bosses, and a wealth of secret areas. We would say that February 10th can’t get here fast enough, but we’re stuck for puns in the event that we get our hands on it. Bone-onic Commando, maybe?
While we rack our brains, you can wishlist Grapple Dog on Steam or check out the trailer below.
