gamr is an esport and gaming platform that uses technology to aggregate the African gaming eco-system and break barriers to global tournament access. The company is focused on developing the African esports industry by advocating the gaming culture, structuring seamless intercontinental engagements, and creating renowned global tournaments for Pan- African gamers, sports, and entertainment enthusiasts. Since inception in 2020, the community has grown from 2,400 to 67,000 gamers across 13 African countries: Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Algeria, Tanzania, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Somalia, Uganda, Zambia, Cote D’ Voire, Egypt.
This year, gamr is hosting the 1st esports tournament event in Africa tagged Gamr X on the 2nd of April 2022 at the EKO Convention Center, Lagos Nigeria. This e-sport tournament will connect the gaming and e-sports landscape within the African regions as 10 countries: Nigeria(host country), Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Senegal, Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Kenya, Algeria and South Africa will be participating. The finalists will get an all-expense-paid trip to Lagos, Nigeria to compete for a $15,000 prize pool across 5 game titles in FIFA21, CODM, PUBGM, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter V.
Gamr X, will bring together the best pro and amateur video gamers, e-sports gamers, sports devotees, entertainment enthusiasts and culture junkies from around Africa.
