PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Armed with free food for students, FSU Panama City Police Officers are offering a bite to eat and words of encouragement to students.
Officers will be handing out free cookies and brownies to help give students a boost for finals exams.
The goodies can be found at the Holley Center on campus from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. every morning through Thursday.
Lieutenant Steve Sellers with the FSU Panama City Police Department said this is just one of the ways the school’s dean is finding positive ways for the police department to interact with students.
“Usually when the police arrive it’s a bad situation,” Lt. Sellers said. “He does a good job of trying to find positive ways to interact. It’s a win-win for us. We have a good relationship with the students, staff, and faculty, this is just kind of a bonus.”
Lt. Sellers said he hopes this small gesture will take a bit of stress off of students as they head into final exams.
