Esports Entertainment Group Inc. Shares Up 9% Ahead of N.J. Debut – MarketWatch

Esports Entertainment Group Inc. shares rose over 9% to $2.75 Friday ahead of its betting platform’s debut in New Jersey this weekend.
The company said it has received permission from officials to launch its esports betting platform, VIE.gg, in the state and that it is the first esports betting operator to be granted such rights there. Starting over the weekend, New Jersey residents can use the platform to bet on teams that compete at video games, the company said.
The stock price for the Malta-based company has declined 65.8% over the last 12 months.
