Indie darling Stardew Valley has sold more than 20 million copies to date.
That’s according to the game’s website, which says that the title has shifted this many units as of March 2022. Developer Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone says that 13 million of these 20 million total sales of Stardew Valley were on PC alone.
This new milestone means that Stardew Valley’s total sales have doubled since the start of 2020. At that point, the title had shifted 10 million copies.
«It’s strange & amazing to think back to when I was making this game in my bedroom w/ no clue if anyone would like it,» Barone wrote at the time.
«Only four years ago! To everyone who has played this game, supported it, and made all of this possible: Thank you!»
Stardew Valley was initially made by Barone alone and was released back in February 2016 for PC, before coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices later down the line.
