Tier one counter-strike is officially back, and tomorrow marks the debut for several new teams’ rosters. The roster shuffling should provide us with some more dynamic gameplay as well as add variance to the CS:GO DFS slate today. We’ll be breaking down the CS:GO DFS strategy and some of the best Esports DFS picks for DraftKings lineups.
Table of Contents
Natus Vincere (NaVi) vs. MIBR (MiBR)
Astralis (A) vs. OG (OG)
This is a perfect example of “don’t overthink it.” NaVi are by far the best team in the world and haven’t lost a tournament since October 3rd. On the other hand, MIBR don’t have much, if any, tier one experience, and have even struggled to put up consistent results at the tier two level. The best of one format can result into some big upsets, but it’s too much to ask of MIBR. I’d rather look at contrarian upset picks in the other match where it seems more likely. On DraftKings, expect at least two NaVi players in each lineup. Obviously whenever s1mple is on the slate he’s the best pay-up option, but I also like paying up for electronic who will be lesser owned. B1t is also extremely underpriced at $6,600 and is a great safe option.
The great Astralis dynasty is officially over, and only gla1ve and Xyp9x remain on the roster. They recently parted ways with magisk, dupreeh, and their coach zonic, who all got sent to Vitality. This won’t be Astralis’ debut as a new team because they finished 5th-6th in their most recent tournament. With the additions of k0nfig and blameF, the talent is undeniably there, but they have yet to look like a formidable team. On DraftKings you need to pay a hefty price for all of the players, so I’m not sure it’s worth it. In their last six matches, kills and assists have been spread around quite evenly, making paying up for the likes of blameF or k0nfig even more difficult.
After an incredibly disappointing 2021, OG finally decided to make another change and bring in nexa as their in game leader to replace Aleksib. It’s hard to say if that’s the change they’ll need to become a top ten team, but only time will tell. OG come into the match against Astralis as underdogs, and if people choose not to roster them because of this, I like taking the side of OG over a struggling Astralis. Valde and mantuu are both capable of high scoring performances, and come at a cheaper price than their counterparts. OG is definitely a safer upset option than MIBR are and have a great chance to win in a best of one.
