It’s open to ports, remakes and new releases
It’s that time of year again when Atlus releases its annual survey – asking fans about their gaming habits as well as what games and series they would like to see more of in the future. This time around, there’s also an English version of the survey open to residents in North America. You can still participate if you live outside this region.
This year’s survey will open until 15th May (that’s today) and contains a total of 49 questions. Once again, it wants to know what platforms it should release series like Persona, Etrian Odyssey and the Shin Megami Tensei series on – with the Nintendo Switch / Switch Lite as options. It then asks what platforms fans would like to play on, with the Switch once again being an option.
It goes on to ask about remakes (with new elements like improved visuals and controls) – and what platforms these titles should be made available on. The Switch is once again included in the choices. A later question asks about games it should port – with options like should Persona 5 / Royal be brought across to the Switch, and even games like Persona Q series.

Uh… yes, yes, and YES!!!

This is what, the 3rd time they’ve asked? And I’m pretty sure the answer is always a resounding YES

I completed this survey yesterday. Probably like the 4th or 5th time I’ve taken an Atlus survey, but whatever.
Put my full support behind Persona ports and Soul Hackers 2 on Switch.

I’d like more ports/remasters of their PS2/3DS catalog on Switch, instead of the usual Persona port begging.
Digital Devil Saga remains trapped on PS2/PS3, while more people deserve to play Devil Survivor games on the big screen.
Persona 5 on Switch is not worth begging for when there’s other, better Atlus masterpieces waiting for another day in the sun.

No thank you, I’d prefer a non canon musou version of the games people actually want to play on other platforms.

What is the point of these surveys if they don’t listen? I don’t even care about Persona 5 but give the people what they want already. Not even a fan and I’m a single person and I’m aware of the want for it. These surveys are pointless if they haven’t figured that out in the past 2.

Nope. Don’t care anymore. When they put Joker in Smash I thought Persona ports would happen, when they put P5 Strikers on Switch, I thought it would happen because it’s literally a direct continuation of P5’s story, and when they put out surveys last year and the year before, I thought it would happen.
Instead, we get P4 Arena which is another direct sequel to a game that isn’t available on Switch (P4).
With the Switch being the only system I have, I’ve simply lost all interest in Persona and I haven’t even played it. They’ve done a poor job of getting Switch owners invested in the series, and there’s too many other games coming out that have my interest (Mario Strikers Battle League, FE Warriors Three Hopes, Xenoblade 3, and possibly Splatoon 3 as well), so I simply don’t have time to worry about games like Persona and whether or not they’ll come to Switch. I loved SMT V, but this is just tiring at this point.

How many times has Atlus asked this and the overwhelming answer being yes?
Either port said games or shut up.

Oh look another survey that doesn’t seem to go anywhere. Well, time to answer and get ignored again. See you next year!

Atlus: Do you want more games on Switch?
Everyone: Yes.
Atlus: Okay, but do you want more games on Switch?
Everyone: Defiantly.
Atlus: But just to be sure, do you want more games on Switch?
Everyone: Just do it already.
Atlus: Do you want more games on Switch?

I’m not falling for that anymore. Waste of my time….

Oh well. Here we go again. ¯(?)

Don’t worry, We “believe” you!

I loathe surveys like this, they know we want P4G and P5, they seem tone deaf to that yet have the gall to send out a survey saying ‘would you like any games, we couldn’t possibly know already’.

Who’s in charge of Atlas? Ohh right.. Well, some things can’t be helped

No. I’m fine with how many games the Switch has. Everyone can stop now.
What a silly question.

Here we go again, Bring me with little hope that they will port persona 5 or maybe soul hacker 2 on Switch

A few requests:
1) Talk to Sega about remaking/remastering Shining Force III and Skies of Arcadia (bonus props for any additional IPs like Dragon Force or Panzer Dragoon Saga).
2) 3D Dot Game Heroes was a seriously great Zelda-like on the PS3 and would feel right at home on the Switch.
All that said, I am keeping my expectations tempered; Atlus is far from the only company to tantalize gamers with surveys, questionnaires, and PR statements, and all too often we never hear back or end up being disappointed with what actually gets released.
As for Persona and Shin Migami Tensei, I personally have never cared for their theming; that’s no knock on the fans who do, they’re just not my cup of tea. Etrian Odyssey is a series I’ve read about but am not familiar with, but it looks like something I might enjoy.

How many times do they have to ask this? Pretty sure it was an overwhelming yes each time. This honestly feels like a troll at this point.

Giant waste of time. Atlus can shove these surveys where the sun doesn’t shine.

Ah yes, the annual tradition of filling out an Atlus survey for more Switch games only to recieve practically none.

I have an idea. How about screw off with the shady exclusivity and actually tell us the truth, Atlus?

I say no I don’t care. Also if they were gonna put persona games on switch I’m pretty sure they would have done it already.

Yup, did my survey for this yesterday. Pretty much I want it all on Switch, lol

A job posting for Persona 5 was looking for people with experience coding for switch (not by name, obviously) … I remember it because it’s one of the first job posting that mentioned the system. I didn’t even think dev kits had gone out at the time … I wouldn’t see one for over a year after seeing that.
A remember a data mine suggesting it supported touch controls as well.
So no idea what happened with that, or why Altus feels they have to ask this question in the first place. Disgaea 6 sold much better on switch then PS4 despite a huge performance hit, with a scaled down mode that could barely keep above 30 fps and a "full resolution" mode that dipped to single digits in town.
Obviously, yes, switch owners want your games.

As usual, Europeans can’t participate…

Atlus are just confused at this point. Why ask all these questions over & over again, when you won’t even bother to release the one game all have been clamoring for, which is Persona 5R on the switch platform.

I would like them to port Digital Devil Saga and Devil Summoner games from PS2.

Every year we go through this, and every year they completely ignore everything. Why even bother?

I filled in the length survey but the answer is OBVIOUS with regard to the Switch. They muct KNOW which games are wanted and all this has been asked before more than once.

I’ve never played the Persona series (it’s possible I never will, unless I buy a different console apparently), but I’ve played and loved so many Atlus games on DS and 3DS, and with the pending 3DS eShop shutdown, I want to see them get rereleased on something current gen before they’re lost to time. So many of their titles were delightfully quirky. I feel like they took some risks with the games they published.
The Etrian Odyssey series was amazing, for example. You got to draw a map! On the screen! You really were exploring a labyrinth!

Snowboard Kids 3 please.

I really just want Switch ports of Portable, Golden, and Royal. … In 3’s case admittedly I more want a retool of sorts since neither FES nor Portable is an ideal way to play it.

New Trauma Center game please!

Ah, the annual survey where they laugh and spit on your wishes.

They already know the answers. Just get on with porting Persona 5 Royal, pronto

I tried to do the survey but it’s just too damn long. Answer the same questions over and over for mulitple platforms. It’s a huge waste of time. I got 33% through it after 10-15 minutes and decided I didn’t want to finish it.
Here’s a better Survey:
Do you want more Atlus games on ___ platform?
A: Yes
B: No
If you answered A, which games would you like?

Yeah, port all of the shmups.

@MsJubilee what is your thumbnail actually from?

This is ironic as hell…. Im getting my final purchases on 3DS eshop this month, including the SMT games and their dlc (which is incredibly expensive when all added up…. Think I’m paying nearly the same price I paid for 4 SMT games!)…. I swear Ima murda em
If they port SMT4/4A/DS/DS2/Redux and all their dlcs….. turds….

I am still hoping for Digital Devil Saga as I don’t think they are good games to play on a TV.

@Ocaz the point is that they have data. Its data they can sell, dta they can use to target market, and or determining levels of interest of various franchises. Its not all about actually delivering games to a system.
Information is a resource

Release Persona 5 yesterday.

It is too late.

All I want is persona 4 golden. It was good on ps vita but the screen on ps vita is too small for me to play it.

They only do this to get people riled up.

Yea, go on then. ?

@diwdiws ok? Their useless data hasn’t done anything. But ok I guess.

Get those japanese only games and games stuck on handhelds on the big screen pronto. That is my big message to Atlus.
Of course a brand new Devil Survivor and new 1st person dungeon crawling Shin Megami Tensei would be even more awesome but donno if they would that. I guess it is bit of a shock that Soul Hackers of all things is making a return.

They have been asking this since 5 years and I’m sure the answer hasn’t changed since then. And yet they still will be unsure if Nintendo fans want their games

I don’t know if they are joking or trolling… They cannot be serious.

This is such a dumb thing to ask for… I mean, by now Atlus should have sales data to prove if people want to buy their games on Switch or not.

I remember a time during the DS era where they published all sorts of cool games and didn’t ask for repetitive surveys. Nowadays they’re so weirdly apprehensive putting anything on a Nintendo console expecting people to beg.

@Ocaz i mean, they could have been selling your video game and console preferences to other corporations. Thats not useless.

A complete waste of time.

I’m not even going to answer that question anymore. Do what you know we want, or don’t. Stop pretending to listen.

They’ve done this for years. I’d like to see results.

Atlus are either stupid or annoying. They know that Switch owners want a mainline Persona game (preferably P5R but we’d take P4G) instead they give us spin-off games only. There’s over 100 million Switch owners so I have to ask what are they doing? Do they not want easy money?

Dragons Crown, Odinsphere, and Muramasa are what I would like to see.
That survey was one of the most poorly written, redundant, obnoxious surveys I have ever seen.

Not filling it out. I already did last year. The answer is always yes, but I doubt they will listen.

Radiant Historia yes.

Trauma Center / Team series?

Would love to do the survey, but it seems for them people living outside the US are second class citizens since we are not allowed to participate.

I marked most things that asked for what console I’m interested in buying for with Nintendo Switch.I also told them I own both a PC & a Nintendo Switch. Not going to bother putting any Sony or Xbox detail down, as they seem out of touch with Adult Customers. At the end there was a mini-teaser for soul hackers 2 coming in August to everything but the Nintendo Switch, and then they asked for optional comments after that. On optional comments I asked them to translate & port the To Love-Ru Vita games to the Nintendo Switch.

Some of this questions I don’t even understand why they ask anymore, as they should be no-brainers…

Why yes Atlus, I bought the thing to play games, of course I want more games for it.

Do I want GAMES for a GAME console? …No, not really. Thank you, Atlus. ?

Yes but not from Atlus. Speaking of which, I have Thousand Arms for sale.

Just did the survey, was all that a marketing campaign for Souls Hackers 2? the game that won’t even come out on the Switch?! My response to the video was being disappointed they are not considering the NS for that game and to please bring P5 to the console.

Just finished the survey myself. I told them at the open-ended part of the survey that I wanted a new Trauma Center game above all other Atlus games, preferably one with full-motion video anime cutscenes in the art style form previous games (Second Opinion, New Blood, etc.).
It can be remakes or ports of previous entries, or it can be all new games, like Under the Knife III. I want to see Derek Stiles and Angie Thompson get into a romantic relationship, maybe even get married!

Atlus: (Having released several Switch ports of well-received games and one high-profile Switch exclusive new release in the past year) confidently puts out annual survey about what devices people game on, what social media platforms they get recommendations from, what features they look for in a port or enhanced edition and what series they’re interested in.
Switch gamers: WHERE IS PERSONA 5, YOU ******S?!?

These are always dumb because they always ask and then willfully ignore their base. It’s like a game for them. ATLUS is gonna ATLUS and I’ve stopped pretending my input maters haha.

Atlus: Do YoU wAnT OuR gAmEs????
Players: Yes! Every single one of them!!
Atlus I caaann’t heeEEEAAAR YOOOOOUUUUU~~

You know, that title…the title of this article…
…no…no they don’t. They want you to think they do, but they don’t actually port anything to the Switch beyond spinoffs and games they publish but do not create.
Three times this poll has been announced, and nothing has changed in this time.
They should really just be transparent about what they can and cannot port. Being coy and cheeky only works when a product is at the other end of the tunnel, because the speculation pays off. If it leads to nothing, it heightens the disappointment. If there are no plans to release Persona 5 or revive Etrian Odyssey, just be clear and let people move on.

they will just make the dancing games multiplatform

I really wonder how vested Altus is in Nintendo Switch based off of SMT V sales. I mean it did sell over 1 million copies on the platform (that’s pretty good, but is it good enough?). Like everyone else, I’d like to see the Persona series and other SMT/legacy titles brought over to the console but I really wanna see Soul Hackers 2 get a Switch release first. It’s very annoying that it was announced for other consoles except Switch even though it could easily run on the console.

Long survey and it was annoying that they kept asking me questions about Steam just because I said I can play a few games on my macbook.
I heavily emphasized in the free answer comments that unless the game comes to Switch or its future successor, I’m not playing it.

Maybe. Just maybe. Maybe y’all’s votes just aren’t enough on those polls, and that’s why you’re getting ignored?

Too many personal questions about my household. I’ve no time for them to glean that specific of marketing info from me. No doubt they are selling the info.

@Axecon SMT V in 5 months did a million which is great for the franchise in general. For some perspective it’s the best selling of the SMT series. Persona 5 including Royal is at 5 million which is great too. I think the more social elements of Persona 5 might be the difference in sales.
Maybe it’s more appealing but I’m sure Atlus wants to keep their home market which is dominated by Nintendo as a priority. I hope so at least. I could see them doing a SMT IV Apocalypse like release for SMT V.

I just finished the survey myself and I said that I would like The Dark Spire for the DS to be ported to Switch with DLC added. I never got to play that game back then, so I would love a Switch port or remake.

Odin sphere and Muramasa for switch would be very sweet. Also P3, P4 and P5 ports.

@GrailUK
I kind of get similar vibes to square-enix talking about whether or not there is "demand" for the older FF games on switch (when talking about the recent remasters)

Hopefully this bodes well and incentivizes Atlus to bring some of their other heralded titles over to the Switch. Having only played Persona 5, Deluxe/Definitive versions of Persona 3 & Persona 4 would be great and an instant buy for me. ???
**Sidenote: As an aside with Atlus, a sequel to Catherine with more life/dating sim and less grueling, repetitive puzzles would be nice.
I’d also love a revival of the underrated Trauma Center series for Switch with the improved motion controls of today as well! ??????
… Wun can only hope!

My friendship with a Persona port has ended. Trauma Center port is the next best business partner.

@quinnyboy58 i genuinely think they’re just that stupid. apparently they were surprised by the stronger than expected sales of P4G on Steam. so i think the survey does help. it might take a few more tries though.

@Axecon Some gaming genius on N4G said Atlus didn’t want to make a Switch version of Soul Hackers 2 because it can’t handle it, lol

No , im tired of this….they just want to provide the illusion of caring

@diwdiws yeeeeah. As I said before. Alright. That’s super useful information to be sold I’m sure. Now theyll know I’ve never bought an atlus game oh nooo

I basically said I wanted the Persona games and Soul Hackers 2 on Switch. Hoping they listen.

I started the survey and found it to be a generic information grab, so I didn’t bother progressing past the first few minutes. Altus, or Sega, or whoever can stuff it. I have all the games already.

Porting the older Persona and Shin Megami games to modern hardware would be lovely. I’d also like to see more Etrian Odyssey, though that might not be the same without the 3DS dual screens (guessing they’d have to scrap the map-drawing mechanic, and turn it into an auto-fill map).

Persona 2 need a remake. Was not very smooth playing the PSP game. Persona 3 with a real remaster treatment, Mass Efect style, would be great in Switch, same goes for 4 and 5.

Persona 3 FES on Switch would be an instant buy for me. I’d then have most my favorite RPG on the system.
I’d only be missing games that have no hope, like Sunset OD. Getting a Steamdeck just to have that in handheld.

Persona 3 FES, as I’m playing it now on a PS3, doesn’t need a remake. Just a good port.

they’re so worry about potential sales number because there’s too much games release on switch.

I get e-mails to take a survey from Atlus more than once a year it seems like. I always take the survey and ask them to port everything to every system. Let’s see what happens…

SUrely they’re trolling us, right? i don’t even have to say what game we all want. it starts with p and ends with 5

Either Atlus is out of touch or they’re just trolling us. And I’m going with the former since they thought it was a good idea to gatekeep streamer’s/let’s players from streaming all of Persona 5 and Strikers.

@DemonKow Strikers isn’t non-canon so that makes the joke even better.

@JustMonika Interesting take, but from the looks of it I’m pretty sure Switch can handle anything Atlus puts out. It’s just Atlus being lazy, none of their games have ever been very graphically demanding. If the Switch can handle stuff like Persona 5 Strikers, Astral Chain, or Xenoblade it can handle Soul Hackers 2.
